Compilations — for businesses & tax-exempt entities

Compilations provide no assurance about the information that management provides in the form of financial statements (disclosures are optional). The compilation process typically involves assisting management in presenting information in accordance with another comprehensive basis of accounting (OCBOA) or in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Primary components of compilation engagements:

  • Assemble financial statements and disclosures, as requested, to the extent necessary
  • Read the financial statements to assess whether they are obviously inappropriate
  • Provide a written compilation report
